A brief Biography of H.H Dungsey Garab Dorje Rinpoche

 

     His Holiness Dungsey Garab Dorje Rinpoche was born in Brekha, Bhutan. His Holiness is a Yogi-Rinpoche of the God caste blood lineage. Rinpoche is the human-form of Manjushri-King Trisong Deytsen of Tibet, also the original son of Dudjom Rinpoche (who in turn is regarded as the manifestation of Guru Padmasambahva). Garab Dorje Rinpoche's father is none other than His Holiness Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, a well-known great Buddhist teacher. Rinpoche's mother, Jamyang Choedon comes from an equally impressive blood lineage-that of Kuenkhen Pema Karpo. Rinpoche's eminent ancestry of such religious background ensured that it was natural for him to be genuinely immersed in dharmic activities since young.

     Rinpoche received his early education from his father when he was only four. He was admitted to the Simtokha Buddhist Institute in Bhutan when he was eight years old. He spent many years in learning dharma activities from various Precious Teachers, like His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentshe Rinpoche, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, Lama Gyalwa Nima, and Khenpo Lodue Zangpo.

     His Holiness Garab Dorje Rinpoche has established many centres of Buddhist studies within and outside of Bhutan, amongst them are Rangjung Wodsel Choeling Monastery in Rangjung (1988) for monks and Thegchog Kunzang Choedon Nunnery (1993) for nuns, both in East Bhutan. Rinpoche also travels worldwide at the invitation of Buddhist centres to give Dharma teachings. The main motivation of His Holiness is to convey Buddha's teaching to all beings especially spreading Dudjom New Treasure (Dudjom Tersar). Followers and disciples of Dudjom New Treasure Lineage regard Rinpoche as the true successor of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche.

      The responsibilities that lie on Rinpoche's shoulders encompass countless matters. Taking care of Rangjung Monastery, Yogi's Temples, shedras, retreat centers, monks and nuns upbringing and education. Rinpoche has erected the victory banner of Buddhadharma in the pure land of Bhutan. Upholding Dudjom New Treasure teachings, his centers can be found in every country and city. With Rinpoche's unchangeable compassion, Dudjom New Treasure a.k.a Dudjom Tersar will flourish worldwide to benefit all sentient beings.

     Dudjom Dharma House Kuala Lumpur was established in 2004. With our compassionate Guru and Buddha's blessings, the practitioners and disciples are increasing, thus we have moved to a new location situated at No. 35, Jalan Wawasan 5/1, Pusat Bandar Puchong, Selangor.
